This photograph of Margate beach was taken with a Leica D-Lux 5 digital camera. I hope to take the same shot in the next week or so, weather permitting, with a Fuji GW670II 120 format film camera.

A New Season explores the inter-connectivity between preparing for a new season at an English seaside resort and my documenting of the days of my project at the English seaside. i decided to differentiate between the two elements by using alternating colour and black & white photographs. The sound was recorded on the trip and edited to suit the slideshow.

"...it quickly became crystal clear that while photography students had a wealth of material on the technique, technology, history, and theory of photography, there was surfeit of inspirational and informative material on what it means to be a photographer." (Steven Heller).
